The International Symposium on the Internet of Sounds (IS2) serves as an international forum for discussing current and future research in the Internet of Sounds domain. It is a platform for researchers, scientists, scholars, students, artists, and industry professionals from around the world to present their current research, and foster alliances with peers.

IS2 is a double-blind peer-reviewed international scientific conference around the core interdisciplinary topics at the confluence of Internet of Things and Sound and Music Computing.

The first IS2 conference started in Trento, Italy, in September 2020. The first three editions of the symposium have been hosted as satellite events of the international conferences Audio Mostly (sponsored by ACM) and IEEE Conference on Open Innovations (sponsored by IEEE), under the name of International Workshop on the Internet of Sounds. From 2022, the community decided to organize the meeting as an independent event.

The proceedings of IS2 are available at this page.

IS2 Steering Committee

IS2 is run each year by a different Organizing Committee and is supervised by the Steering Committee of the research network, which includes academic, industrial, and artistic representatives from different countries.

Next IS2 edition

The 2024 International Symposium on the Internet of Sounds will take place between 30 September and 2 October at the Fraunhofer IIS in Erlangen, Germany. More information can be found here.
